Welcome to RUNASIMI KUCHU.COM, formerly CYBERQUECHUA. This site was born out of my devotion to Andean cultures and my desire to promote them and help preserve the languages of those cultures, which are slowly dying out in the face of the dominance of the Spanish language.
Here at RUNASIMI KUCHU.COM, you will find a host of resources and information on the Quechua language and culture, ranging from full-text academic articles and translations of diverse documents into Quechua, to resources for those interested in studying Quechua and links to others outstanding sites of interest to Andeanists. The following list describes the content of the areas in the menu bar to the right. In all categories, I have included links to other outstanding, relevant sites.
Linguistics. Links to a variety of linguistic information, such as web pages on different dialects of Quechua and Quechua dictionaries.
Literature and Culture. Stories, myths and legends, jokes, poetry, other interesting Quechua sites, etc.
Mass Media. This section includes a newsletter on issues of importance to the wider Quechua community, both speakers and scholars, as well as links to other sources of news in and about the Andes: links to radio stations transmitting in Quechua, e-mail, a chat room, and other means of communication as we have a chance to develop them.
Translations. Some important United Nations documents, and one or two excerpts of Hispanic literature, translated from Spanish to Quechua; also, links to other sites with good translations.
Sounds and Images. Photos, video clips, music.
Webmaster. This page contains personal and professional information on me, the creator of this site, including other professional interests not directly related to Quechua.
Please feel free to browse through all the information I have collected here. I hope you enjoy the new and improved CYBERQUECHUA page, now with its own Quechua name. If you have any suggestions or comments, please send me an email. I would love to hear from you. And please remember to check back often! I am constantly adding new information as I find it.
